Hanwha Aerospace (012450.KS) is showcasing future space and aviation technologies at the 2026 Sacheon Air Show alongside its domestic materials and components suppliers.
The company said it is taking part in the air show, which opened on the 22nd at Sacheon Airfield in South Gyeongsang Province. This year's event combines the existing aviation festival with the Gyeongnam Aerospace and Defense Expo (GADEX), bringing together 130 companies and institutions from Korea and abroad to display advanced technologies and products. Export consultations and business meetings among global companies are also being held.
At the exhibition, Hanwha Aerospace is presenting its aviation industry capabilities for future battlefield environments. These include an advanced aircraft engine it plans to develop for next-generation fighter jets such as the KF-21, a 5,500-pound turbofan engine for unmanned aircraft built with domestic proprietary technology, the Mojave STOL short takeoff and landing drone, and a canister-launched interceptor drone.
In the space segment, the company is displaying Nuri, South Korea's homegrown space launch vehicle, which completed a successful fifth launch on the 7th of this month. As the private-sector systems integrator, Hanwha Aerospace takes part in building and operating Nuri together with the Korea Aerospace Research Institute and about 300 companies.
The company is also laying out a vision for shared growth across the industry ecosystem with 421 core materials and components suppliers based in South Gyeongsang Province. It has been expanding collaboration opportunities with these firms in key business areas including aircraft engines, unmanned aircraft and drones.
"Through cooperation with our suppliers, we will develop advanced technologies and build a virtuous cycle of shared growth that expands our entry into global markets on that foundation," an official at Hanwha Aerospace said.
