Twitch has announced Stream Recaps on Wednesday (October 20, 2026), giving creators a new way to keep their communities engaged after a broadcast ends. The feature collects clips from a livestream into a highlight reel, allowing followers to revisit memorable moments without watching the entire session.
By default, clips created by streamers and their editors are included. Creators can open their Stream Summary or tap the plus button in the mobile app to review the selection, add clips, remove unwanted moments, and make changes before sharing the recap.
Recaps Will Appear at the Top of the Mobile Feed
Followers will find Stream Recaps in a dedicated section near the top of Twitch's mobile feed. Recaps will also remain on the streamer's channel page, making it easier for viewers to discover highlights after the original broadcast ends.
Twitch says the feature is meant to help communities stay connected between streams. Viewers can react to clips and leave comments, giving creators feedback on which moments resonated with their audience. That engagement could also help Twitch recommend clips to new viewers through its Clips and Live feeds.
Creators Can Edit Clips Before Sharing
Streamers will retain control over what appears in their recaps. They can select clips, adjust their framing, edit captions, and change layouts to better suit the content. They can also capture moments during a live broadcast with a shortcut. Saying ‘Twitch Clip That’ creates a clip and adds it to the recap automatically. Creators can then review and refine it after the stream ends.

Twitch also plans to promote selected clips from Stream Recaps on third-party social media platforms later in October, potentially helping creators reach audiences beyond Twitch itself.
For viewers who regularly miss their favorite streamers' broadcasts, the feature offers a quicker way to stay up to date. For creators, it provides another opportunity to keep their content visible long after they sign off.
