A cat belonging to a Sri Lankan passenger that went missing at Dubai International Airport has been found after a week-long search.
The cat, named Chuuti, disappeared from its carrier on October 11 while being transported on a SriLankan Airlines flight from Dubai to Colombo.
According to an update from the Dubai airport team, the cat was located inside a baggage carousel tunnel following an extensive search.
“After a week of tremendous effort by our DXB team, we successfully found the missing cat in the baggage carousel tunnel,” the update stated.
The team described the search as a mission requiring dedication, persistence and teamwork.
The passenger had previously appealed for assistance after the cat went missing while in the airline’s care. She had refused to board her flight and reportedly spent approximately 28 hours at the airport searching for her pet. (Newswire)
