KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines has cancelled all flights from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baru to Jeddah and Madinah from Oct 12 to 17 following recent attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia.
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) said affected passengers could opt for a full refund or rebook their flights to a later date at no additional cost, with the option valid for 30 days from the original departure date.
"Malaysia Airlines continues to closely monitor developments in the region, with the safety of passengers and crew remaining its highest priority," it said in a statement.
The airline said flights to and from Doha remained operational at this time.
Rebooking and refund requests can be made through "My Booking" on the airline's website or mobile app, through Live Chat, or by calling its Global Contact Centre at 1 300 88 3000 within Malaysia or +603 7843 3000 from overseas.
Passengers were reminded to ensure their contact details were up to date via "My Booking" to receive timely notifications.
It was earlier reported on Oct 12 that several flights from Malaysia to Jeddah and Madinah had been cancelled or rescheduled.
Flight information on Malaysia Airport's website yesterday showed that Malaysia Airlines' MH156 to Jeddah, scheduled for 3.05pm, and MH158 to Madinah, scheduled for 5.10pm, from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 were cancelled.
Batik Air Malaysia's OD701 to Jeddah, scheduled for 7.25pm, was also cancelled.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines' MH154 from Senai International Airport to Jeddah scheduled for today were reportedly rescheduled in a notice circulating online.
The cancellations and rescheduling come after Houthi missile attacks on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport on Saturday and Sunday, which killed at least 13 people and wounded more than 300.
