Palma’s international superyacht community has raised an incredible €65,000 for charity after coming together for a day of golf, networking and fundraising at Golf Son Quint.
Organised by the Superyacht Charities Foundation, the annual tournament brought together professionals from across the maritime industry, combining friendly competition with a shared commitment to supporting charitable causes in Mallorca and beyond.
Participants took part in a two-person Texas Scramble competition before enjoying a barbecue, prize-giving ceremony and charity raffle. Live coverage was provided by Wave Mallorca, helping bring the event to a wider audience across the island.
Supporting local charities
This year’s island beneficiaries are Yachting Gives Back and Fundació Joves Navegants, two organisations working to make a positive difference in the local community.
The tournament forms part of Superyacht Charities’ wider fundraising programme, which stages events in the UK, Palma and Antigua. Over its 11-year history, the foundation has raised and donated £1.3 million to charitable causes.
Its events provide an opportunity for professionals from the international yachting industry to build connections while raising vital funds for organisations supporting people in need.
The foundation also supports local causes through its Cash4Causes fund, extending its reach beyond individual fundraising events.
Sponsors make a difference
Organisers expressed their gratitude to the businesses supporting this year’s tournament, including Peninsula Yacht Services, Howden, MIMO Connect, Divergent Yachting, Arrival Yachts, Bluewater Yachting and Astilleros de Mallorca.
The foundation also receives year-round backing from four dedicated Administrator Sponsors: DSNM, Yotspot, Divergent Yachting and Peninsula Yacht Services.
Their financial support enables the charity to employ an administrator who assists its volunteer trustees in organising and delivering four annual fundraising events.
The trustees themselves work entirely on a voluntary basis and receive no fees for their involvement. This combination of volunteer commitment and sponsor support helps keep the foundation’s operating costs low, allowing an impressive 97 per cent of the proceeds raised to go directly to its chosen charitable beneficiaries.
Making a lasting impact
The €65,000 raised in Palma highlights the generosity and community spirit of an industry that brings together people from across the world.
Beyond the golf course, the tournament demonstrates how businesses and individuals within the superyacht sector can use their networks and resources to support worthwhile causes.
With its annual events continuing to raise funds across several international destinations, Superyacht Charities is helping turn the maritime community’s collective efforts into practical support for charities.
The latest tournament was a resounding success, proving that when Palma’s international yachting community comes together, it can make a meaningful difference to lives across the island and further afield.
