Irene's close bond with Fred
Irene, who goes by the name Nyagowete, meaning sister to brothers, is the third-born among four siblings that included Eric, Fred, and their late firstborn brother Joseph. She relocated to Germany 18 years ago for studies but maintained a close bond with her brothers throughout.
At Fred's burial, Irene delivered a moving tribute that captured the family's grief. "Fred, you have left us too soon. As you join Mum, Dad, and Joseph, you will always be in our thoughts. We thank God for the time and memories we shared. Rest well, brother," she said.
Remembering Fred Omondi
Fred passed away on 15 June 2024 after the boda boda he was riding was involved in a head-on collision with a bus along Kangundo Road. He was laid to rest on 29 June in Sega, Siaya County.
Before his death, Fred had carved out a name for himself on Kenya's comedy circuit, notably through appearances on the Churchill Show. His journey from Kibera's Silanga slums to the national stage made him a figure of admiration for many.
Both Eric and Irene have continued to honour his legacy on social media since his passing, sharing memories of his humour, talent and infectious personality.
