The National Coordinator Atiku/Amaechi Coalition for Good Governance, Hajiya Saadatu Abdulrahman Maishunku, has said that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was poised to secure women’s votes in order to clinch the coveted seat of the president
Speaking at the grand unveiling and official launch of the Atiku/Amaechi Campaign team in Kano, Maishunku stated that the ADC as a bastion of formidable opposition was destined to make a date with history considering it’s populist appeal and wider acceptability in the present democratic dispensations.
She added that the party was abundantly blessed with men of exceptional pedigree and high exposure in Nigerian politics
The groups national coordinator pointed out that no politician worth his onion would love to ignore the numerical strength of women as it had been the prevailing trend within the global political sphere, affirming that paying lip service to women would be a bad omen for democracy.
She, however, stated that with the beginning of a new dawn in Nigeria’s politics, the party had mooted to embark on a door to door campaign for the womenfolk to be adequately sensitised on the need to brace up for the present challenges of wresting power from the ruling APC-led government in the country
She further stressed that no stone would be left unturned in giving the incumbent administration a good fight devoid of unnecessary mud slinging or character assassination, positing that what was most needed was issues based campaign not the attitude of lending credence to baseless permutations.
She counseled voters not to allow themselves to be used by some selfish power seekers desperate to wax strong in the saddle of authority at the expense of those who want to prove their political prowess.
