The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has created a new Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management and reshuffled the leadership of its Youth and Women Mobilisation Directorates ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
This is as the Director-General, Abdulaziz Yari, directed the council’s directorates to develop and submit work plans outlining how they intend to execute their responsibilities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement on Tuesday, the APC PCC Secretary and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, explained that Farouk Adamu Aliyu had been appointed Director of the Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management, with Adejare Bello as co-director.
“The decision follows the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council and is aimed at strengthening the council’s organisational structure, enhancing coordination and improving operational efficiency ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“Under the new arrangement, Farouk Adamu Aliyu has been appointed Director of the Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management, with Rt Hon Adejare Bello serving as Co-Director.
“For the Directorate of Youth Mobilisation, Mr Ayo Olawande will serve as Director, while Dr Dayo Israel has been appointed Deputy Director.
“Similarly, Dr Mary Aille Idele will serve as Director of the Directorate of Women Mobilisation, with Dr Betta Edu as Deputy Director and Imaan Suleman as Secretary.
“The adjustments reflect the council’s commitment to building a well-coordinated, inclusive and results-driven campaign structure capable of effectively mobilising Nigerians, particularly young people and women, in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid,” the statement read.
The council urged the appointees to deploy their experience and organisational skills in discharging their duties as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 presidential election.
Addressing journalists after the first inaugural meeting of the directorates at the Presidential Campaign Office in the Central Business District, Abuja, on Tuesday, Yari said members of the directorates had been entrusted with responsibilities by President Bola Tinubu and must ensure they delivered on their assignments, stressing that they were expected to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He stated, “This meeting is a short one. What we did was direct the directorates to go and work to come up with their work plans and determine how best they are going to carry out this responsibility.
“We reminded them that we are all here on trust. Each and every person who sits under this roof is a trustee of the President. The President trusted us and gave us this responsibility. We must carry it out well and very, very well.
“We are still engaging with traditional rulers. As I said, we are visiting the royal fathers because we just seek their blessings. We need their prayers. And being the authority closest to the masses of the country, we need to go and explain to them where we are and where we want to go.
“So, the next stop is Kaduna on October 24, 2026. And then, from there, the journey continues until January 16, 2027. At the end, by God’s grace, you know the result.”
On Sunday, Yari and other members of the APC PCC visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
On Monday, he consulted the emirs of Gwandu, Katsina, Daura and Zaria, as part of efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
Accompanied by other party leaders, Yari had visited religious and traditional leaders across the country to seek their support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
