There’s quite a gap between first and second place as one player continues to dominate the sport.
Darts players are amongst the wealthiest sporting stars on the planet - just winning the World Championship title earlier this year earned Luke Littler a hefty million quid.
Despite only getting his PDC tour card in 2024 Littler is now a multimillionaire, thanks to the huge audience the sport attracts.
That popularity has seen prize money soar in recent years thanks to television and sponsorship deals, with darters’ earnings dwarfing those of previous legends of the game such as Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson.
It is certainly a golden age for the bank balance of professional darts players - with prize money continuing and thousands of spectators packing into arenas most weeks to enjoy the sport (and a couple of beers).
And the prospect of the rivalry between Luke Littler and Luke Humphries - along with World Championship finalist Gian van Veen - looks likely to enthral fans for years to come.
This week sees the European Championship take place in Germany, with £750,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Here are the 10 players who have won most prize money in the last two years, in the runup to that competition.

Before Littler came along it looked like Luke Humphries was set to dominate the darts world. While that's not happened, he's still won £1,062,500 since October 2024 though - including a famous win over Littler in the Premier League final. | Getty Images

3. Gian van Veen - £1,045,750
Dutch youngster Gian van Veen seems to be the most likely darter to brek the Luke darts duopoly, with £1,045,750 in prize money, meaning he's the third and final million pound darter. The World Championship runner-up bagged his first major win at last year's European Open. | Getty Images

This year saw former professional rugby player Gerwyn Price become only the second player to win ten European Tour titles (after Michael van Gerwen) thanks to his victory at the European Darts Grand Prix.
