Record 13-time Super League champions Nkana’s perfect start to the transitional season has ended after a 2-0 loss to Konkola Blades on Sunday in Chililabombwe.
Kalampa had won their opening three matches ahead of the visit to Chililabombwe.
Konkola Blades reignited their title challenge in Stream A with an impressive 2-0 victory over Nkana on Matchday 5.
Blades took the lead in the 34th minute through Emmanuel Kunda before Congolese striker Idrissa Ilunga Mbombo doubled the advantage three minutes after the restart to seal all three points for the Chililabombwe side.
The defeat sees Nkana remain second on the log with 9 points from four games, level with Konkola Blades who move to third on goal difference, while FC MUZA continue to lead Stream A with 10 points after Saturday’s 1-0 win over Power Dynamos.
In Stream B, Green Buffaloes beat Kabwe Warriors 2-1 at Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium.
Charles Majapa had given Warriors hope with a stoppage time goal in the 91st minute, but earlier strikes from Paul Mbuyi in the 65th minute and Golden Mashata in the 74th minute were enough to hand the Army side maximum points.
The win moves Buffaloes to second place in Stream B with 8 points, two behind leaders Green Eagles.
At Shinde Stadium, Mufulira Wanderers’ woes continued after suffering a 0-1 home defeat to Chirundu United.
Andrew Simumba scored the only goal of the game in the 27th minute.
The result leaves Mighty in the relegation zone with 2 points from four games, while Chirundu United climb to third with 7 points.
