Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC) and Senator representing Zamfara West, continued his nationwide consultative tour on Monday with high-profile visits to prominent traditional rulers across Northern Nigeria.
Following Sunday engagements with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu-Gambari, Senator Yari led a delegation of political heavyweights to pay royal homage to the Emirs of Gwandu, Katsina, Daura, and Zaria.
According to an official statement from his media office, the visits are part of a broad-based consultation strategy aimed at building national consensus and galvanizing support ahead of major campaign activities leading up to key dates on the 2027 electoral calendar.
During the visits, Senator Yari reaffirmed the campaign council’s profound respect for the country’s traditional institutions, describing them as essential pillars for sustaining peace, unity, and national stability.
He clarified that the visits were not primarily intended to solicit direct political endorsements, but rather to seek the prayers, moral support, and wise counsel of the royal fathers as the nation navigates its political transition.
In response, the traditional rulers in their respective palaces offered royal blessings and prayers for peaceful elections, unity, and the continued progress of Nigeria’s democratic journey.
Underscoring the strategic importance of the tour, Senator Yari was accompanied by a high-level delegation of prominent political figures, including Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff (Former Governor of Borno State), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Former Governor of Kano State), Sen. Adamu Aliero (Former Governor of Kebbi State), Sen. Sani Ahmad Yarima (Former Governor of Zamfara State), Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Former Governor of Sokoto State), Sen. Muhammad Danjuma Goje (Former Governor of Gombe State)
