Taiwo Akinola, the presiding bishop of Rhema Christian Church & Towers, has urged Nigerians to refuse stagnation and rise above circumstances that seek to prevent them from fulfilling their divine assignments.
“God did not design His children to live defeated, stagnant or imprisoned by limitations,” Akinola stated in his keynote message during the recent Friends and Family Day, held at the church auditorium along the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway, Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
He identified covenant identity as one of the foundations for overcoming limitations, urging Nigerians not to allow their background, past failures, age, gender or present circumstances to determine their future.
Akinola described Isaac’s experience as a model of progressive advancement for believers, adding that faith grows through hearing God’s word and that fear and doubt can give way to confidence when the mind is aligned with biblical truth.
According to the Archbishop, being unstoppable does not mean that Christians would face no opposition but that they must refuse to surrender when confronted with challenges. He reiterated that believers are expected to keep moving forward, growing in faith and advancing from one level of grace and glory to another.
He challenged Nigerians to see themselves through the lens of God’s purpose rather than through the limitations imposed by their circumstances, and explained that transformation begins internally before becoming visible externally, urging Christians to continually meditate on the word of God.
The Friends and Family Day was organised as part of preparations for the annual global Convention and 35th anniversary of the church with the theme: ‘Be Unstoppable,’ which also served as a platform to strengthen fellowship and mobilise members and friends ahead of the church’s forthcoming convention.
The day also provided an opportunity for engagement and fellowship with traditional institutions, clergy, political stakeholders, families and friends, in the Ado-Odo/Ota axis of the state.
The 2026 Rhema World Convention will also mark the church’s 35th anniversary, themed ‘More Than Conquerors’ and anchored on Romans 8:37, scheduled to hold from November 1 to 8, 2026, at the Champion Peace Cathedral, Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway, Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
