Leading up to the Chicago Bears' Week 6 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, the Bears had been getting some great news on their injured quarterback, Caleb Williams.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Bears listed Williams as a full participant at practice. That news bodes really well for his odds of suiting up this weekend. However, the Bears quarterback revealed some conflicting updates during his Thursday press conference.
Sam Hammond of The Chicago Tribune shared two very important updates from Williams, as the Bears' quarterback told reporters he did, in fact, tear his hamstring and that he still has some tests to pass before he can suit up for the Bears.
Bears' Caleb Williams confirms hamstring tear, reveals Week 6 update
"Caleb Williams said he had a hamstring tear, but he declined to say what grade," Hammond reported.
This update from Williams does confirm that the Bears' QB did suffer what could've been a much more significant injury. A hamstring tear is serious business, but with his full participation at practice this week, it's a good sign for his odds of playing this weekend.
If he is back for Week 6, Williams would've missed just three full weeks, in which the Bears went 2-1 with Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent each getting a win.
However, Williams is still questionable for Week 6 despite these full practices. Hammond shared that Williams "doesn't know if he's playing yet this weekend against the Atlanta Falcons."

The reason why there's some uncertainty? As Williams told Hammond and other reporters on Thursday, "Have to go through a bunch of medical protocols."
For now, Williams' Week 6 status is up in the air. Williams confirmed he did tear his hamstring, though he didn't specify the grade of his hamstring tear.
But he also revealed that his full practices this week don't really tell the full story about his availability. He still needs to clear these "medical protocols" before suiting up.
If those tests from the Bears go well, then Williams is set to suit up in Week 6 against the Falcons, as the Bears try to keep pace with the rest of a dominant NFC North.
