The important Latvian composer Jānis Ivanovs was born 120 years ago on October 9, 1906, and a week after that significant date, the State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga, led by conductor Jānis Stafeckis, visited the Preiļi Culture House for the first time, where local musicians organized a memorial concert dedicated to Ivanovs' 120th anniversary.
Latvian Radio 3 also visited Preiļi, and provided a live broadcast of the occasion which you can enjoy via the link below.
