Oh, Goodbye: 2027 Three-Star QB Will Wood Flips From Penn State To Boston College

Penn State’s 2027 recruiting class is down a commitment as three-star QB Will Wood decommitted from Penn State and flipped to Boston College.

Penn State originally landed Wood over Boston College back in the spring, but the Connecticut native will now be staying more local for college as he’ll head to BC.

Listen folks, not really many ways to swing this as a positive. I personally don’t generally care a ton about quarterback recruiting because I think the portal — even with the costs — has proven to be more fruitful for starting QBs, so losing a three-star is what it is. But man, it’s a bad look to lose the quarterback in your class 6 weeks before signing day to perhaps the worst program in the Power 4 in Boston College. The Eagles are *the* least funded football program in the Power 4, according to The Athletic.

The optics are just really bad right now. Matt Campbell is losing on the field, and his recruiting abilities which had questions to begin with is now losing an offensive skill position player to…Boston College. “Yikes” is really all I can say.
