Trump Says Google CEO Rejected His Idea to Rename Atlantic Ocean ‘Trump Ocean’
U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that he contacted Google CEO Sundar Pichai to propose renaming the Atlantic Ocean “Trump Ocean,” but was told the company would not make the change.
Speaking at a rally in South Carolina, Trump recounted Pichai’s alleged response: “No, no, no. This time I’m not doing it.”
According to Trump, Pichai explained that oceans are different because they span multiple countries, making the proposed name change impractical.
Trump said he would probably drop the idea and keep the name Atlantic Ocean, drawing laughter from the audience.
Google has not independently confirmed the alleged conversation.
