Jacob Misiorowski did not have to wait long to feel the energy of the World Series. The Milwaukee Brewers right-hander recorded his first strikeout on baseball’s biggest stage Friday night, and the reaction from the crowd at American Family Field said everything about what the moment meant to Brewers fans.
A video of the strikeout shows Misiorowski and the Milwaukee crowd getting fired up as the young pitcher continued his first World Series start. With the Brewers playing in their first Fall Classic since 1982, every big pitch carries a little extra weight, and the fans were ready to celebrate.

Jacob Misiorowski, Brewers Fans Get Fired Up After First World Series Strikeout
Misiorowski has been one of the biggest reasons Milwaukee has reached this point. The 24-year-old put together a remarkable regular season, finishing with a 1.80 ERA and a major league-leading 252 strikeouts. His overpowering fastball has become his calling card, and he brought that same velocity to the World Series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. Here is a video of the strike out:

In fact, Misiorowski made history before recording his first strikeout. His opening pitch to Tampa Bay’s Yandy Díaz registered at 103.5 mph, setting a new record for the fastest pitch tracked in World Series history. The previous mark was 103.2 mph, set by Aroldis Chapman in 2016.
For Milwaukee fans, though, the excitement is about more than radar-gun readings. The Brewers are chasing the first World Series title in franchise history, and Misiorowski is taking the ball in Game 1 with the hopes of an entire fan base behind him.
The crowd’s reaction to that first strikeout was a reminder of just how much this run means to the city. The Brewers have waited decades to get back to this stage, and every strikeout, big play and moment of momentum feels that much bigger.

Misiorowski has already shown he can overpower hitters with his electric stuff. Now, with the World Series underway, he and the Brewers are looking to turn that energy into something Milwaukee fans have been waiting a long time to celebrate.
