DAEJEON — A program called "Mindful Walks" is being offered to middle-aged and older residents in Daejeon.
The Korea Forest Welfare Institute said on the 13th that it is running the program, titled "Mindful Walks Through Picture Books and Nature," at the Forest Welfare Comprehensive Education Center in Gwanjeo-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, through Nov. 16.
The program consists of five sessions for 80 participants and is being carried out as part of a Seo-gu District Office initiative that dispatches instructors to run programs at small private libraries.
Earlier this summer, the institute ran a forest exploration program for lower-grade elementary school students through its forest library.
"I hope that middle-aged and older people who have been running at a busy pace can take time to read picture books, walk in the forest and reflect on themselves, even if only briefly," said Kim Jong-nam, president of the Korea Forest Welfare Institute.
