NationA said on the 22nd that it had completed a Series A funding round worth 8.5 billion won ($5.9 million), bringing its cumulative funding to 11.7 billion won. Hana Securities, an existing shareholder, joined the round as a follow-on investor, while Korea Development Bank, Hyundai Investment Partners and Ilshin Investment participated as new investors.
Founded in 2022, NationA has operated an artificial intelligence video production tool and an interactive drama platform aimed at the global market. Drawing on the story-based video generation technology, user data and service operating experience accumulated through that work, the company has expanded its business to cover video production, viewing and interaction.
With the new funding, the company will launch an AI video production platform that merges its two services. The platform links the main steps of production — from image, sound and voice generation to video generation and editing — into a single workflow. The aim is to reduce both the inconvenience of switching between multiple tools and production costs. The company plans to expand the service around global creators and corporate clients, building on its accumulated technology and global operating experience.
NationA will use the proceeds to upgrade the AI video production platform, strengthen its graphics processing unit (GPU)-based service infrastructure, develop products and win global customers. "We will lower the barrier to video production and create an AI video production environment that creators and companies around the world use on a daily basis," said Yoo Soo-yeon, chief executive of NationA.
