In a message to the newsroom, the board urged staff to continue working under the new editor, saying it remained committed to fact-checking, impartiality, independence and accountability, and to separating opinion from reporting.
The board said Alpac Capital, which became a shareholder in August 2026, had not imposed editorial decisions on its newsrooms, adding that no one had been told what to write or what not to write.
It also offered improved severance terms to journalists who did not wish to work under the new management. The offer, based on a French model designed to protect journalists following a change of ownership, amounts to 0.66 of a month's salary per year of service. Employees wishing to accept must inform human resources by noon on October 15.
