According to the Guinness World Records post shared on Facebook on Monday, October 12, she has always had a passion for chapati-making and decided to put her skills to the ultimate test by going for the record.
She did not just break the previous record. She shattered it, bettering the existing mark by a full 43 seconds.
Guinness World Records described Kwamboka as a chef with "a passion for food, cooking, and record-breaking," adding that she managed the feat after years of honing her craft in the kitchen.
Despite the international recognition, Kwamboka joked that her achievement had yet to translate into financial rewards, calling for sponsorship.
In a humorous Facebook post, the chapati queen said her name had travelled beyond borders, proudly representing Kenya and her county on the global stage.
"I may be in bed today, but my name has travelled beyond borders. To put my country on global map, Guinness World Records holder, proudly representing my county to the world. Resting like a queen because history has already been made," she wrote.
She then joked that while she had put Kenya on the global map, her bank statement told a different story.
“You have put the country on the global map, but your bank statement is still local news! Eiiish, it’s tough. I mean, I’m a Guinness World Records holder by day, but an ordinary citizen by night!
“My certificate is international, but sponsorship is still a matter of prayer,” she added.
The achievement immediately drew attention across social media, with Kenyans celebrating the milestone as a point of national pride.
The recognition from one of the world's most prestigious record-keeping bodies is a significant moment for Kwamboka, who has turned a beloved everyday staple of Kenyan cuisine into an international talking point.

Kenyans react to the record
The post drew a flood of reactions from proud Kenyans who were quick to celebrate the milestone with characteristic humour and passion.

"254 to the world! Who wants to set Guinness record eating those three chapos? Tumefikiwa. Katande! 😜"
GOddeck Jux declared:
"Kenya to the world 🌍, hopes you guys now know that Kenya is undisputed the capital city of Africa."
Gatuma SG joked:
"We are also milking buffaloes here in Kenya. Please Guinness World Records recognise us 😂"
Samson Kamau added:
"South Africa 🌍 will be like ntanta....."
Not everyone was purely celebratory, though. Nduta Macharia pointedly observed:
"Funny enough, Kenyan government never recognised this win."
Her comment struck a chord, reflecting a sentiment many Kenyans share about local achievers who earn global recognition but receive little acknowledgement at home.
Kwamboka's record stands regardless, a proud moment for Ongata Rongai and for Kenya.
Did Kwamboka set her Guinness World Record on fire?

After facing intense backlash, Dorcas filmed herself burning the certificate in her kitchen and said she hoped the hatred would stop.
