The death is the second traffic fatality in Ottawa this week, following a pre-dawn incident in Barrhaven on Oct. 14 that killed a 60-year-old male pedestrian.
That death prompted police to issue an urgent plea for all road users to prioritize safety.
They said the number of traffic fatalities in the city this year — 30 — has already surpassed the 26 who lost their lives in 2025.
