Renowned playwright and actor Mamunur Rashid’s ancestral house in Palashtoli area of Tangail city was raided by miscreants.
At that time, they broke the lock of the balcony grill of the house and entered the house and destroyed the cupboard and wardrobe.
Mamunur Rashid’s sister Afia Khan filed a written complaint with Tangail Sadar Police Station on Monday regarding the incident. Afia Khan said, “I have filed a complaint with the police station.
I was in Dhaka on the day of the incident. I went to the police station after returning to Tangail. This house is very dear to my parents. I have become mentally ill.
My brother has spoken to the OC. We have three steel cupboards, a wooden wardrobe and a file cabinet here. It will take me time to understand what was stolen. I have become ill.
They have done a lot of harm to me, a lot. You will see if I send the video.”
In this regard, Mamunur Rashid said, “They (miscreants) have broken open the cupboards, file cabinets, and other things in my house and scattered them around. My mother (deceased) used to live there.
I heard that it was stolen, but my sisters are still unable to figure out exactly what was stolen. It will take some time to figure out what was there and what was not.”
