At Least 12 Dead After Migrant Boat Sinks Off Gambia’s Coast

The Gambia Red Cross said in a statement that several people are believed to be missing.

Many migrants risk their lives on the dangerous journey across the Atlantic, often in rickety boats, in an attempt to reach the Canary Islands. In December last year, more than 40 people died in a similar accident off the coast of The Gambia.
