UKHRUL: The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Naga Students’ Union) has expressed concern over the shortage of teaching staff at Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School, alleging that repeated appeals to the authorities have failed to yield any concrete action.
In a press release dated October 22, the union said the school caters to 63 students from the Anal community and neighbouring communities, including Meiteis and Kukis, but is managed by only five teaching staff.

The union said it met the district authorities on August 27 to seek a resolution to the issue. Following the meeting, the deputy commissioner of Chandel directed the additional deputy commissioner to write to the sub-divisional officer (SDO), Chakpikarong, in-charge, to conduct a field inspection and submit a detailed report on the school.
However, the union alleged that the inspection had not been conducted and no report had been shared with it, stalling efforts to address the shortage.
Questioning the delay, the union sought clarification on whether the additional deputy commissioner had failed to issue the directive or whether the SDO had ignored it.
