If you want to snap up a bargain, Lidl is a surefire place to find one.
Those visiting the budget supermarket will be well-versed in the famed middle aisle, which is home to all kinds of weird and wonderful things.
Random diffuser? Stick it in the trolley. Hiking gear? Sorted.
Now, the brand is introducing the Middle of Lidl Blue Card. And, of course, it’s limited edition.
With only 100 available, the card gives the lucky holders the chance to spend £50 every single month of the year on products from the Middle of Lidl, whether that’s some shiny new Tupperware or garden furniture.
But of course, there’s a catch. To be in with a chance of winning, customers will have to complete a quiz to prove they’re the ultimate Lidl ‘superfan’.
Fancy your chances? The quiz is open from October 21 to October 31, when shoppers can put their knowledge to the test.
This will then enter them into a ballot, which will give them a chance to win one of these exclusive cards.
Since the money will be replenished every month for a year, the value will be £600 in total, which isn’t to be sniffed at.
Joanna Gomer, Lidl GB’s marketing director, said: ‘We wanted to celebrate Lidl’s biggest fans and give something back, so we created the Middle of Lidl Blue Card.
‘Whether they’re heading straight to the Middle of Lidl for the latest drop, know all the Lidl lore or make a regular trip to the MoL on Thursdays and Sundays, the card is our way of recognising the fans who make the Middle Aisle such a much-loved part of the Lidl shopping experience.’
The Middle of Lidl aisle is known for constantly switching up its products, so when it’s gone, it’s well and truly gone.
At the moment, the brand has a range of absolute bargains on sale, including an insulated bottle for £3.49, a £32.99 air fryer (measuring 6.7 litres, no less), and various Halloween decorations, from a £7.99 gonk wearing an orange witch’s hat to a £14.99 light-up broomstick.
Meanwhile, it’s been a big few months for Lidl.
According to customers, the bargain retailer has been ‘quietly’ phasing out standard 54L hand baskets and instead only offering larger 80L rolling basket trolleys.
This move is garnering criticism online, with many claiming they ‘hate’ being forced to use the ‘cumbersome’ bigger baskets.
Some have even claimed it’s an ‘accessibility nightmare’, as older shoppers and those with disabilities struggle to move around the store with them.
Elsewhere, items in the Lidl bakery are constantly going viral. And recently, a brand new one appeared on shelves, in keeping with the supermarket’s tendency to switch up between new products and returning favourites.
Priced at £1.49, the Milkybar Muffin hit the shelves in Lidl’s bakery on October 1, and to high praise indeed, as it was promptly labelled ‘phenomenal’, ‘lush’, ‘unreal’, and ‘dangerous’ online.
The product features a white chocolate-flavoured filling inside a ‘moist’ sponge muffin, and it’s topped with a Milkybar button. Don’t tempt us.
