The Hina Javed murder case has drawn fresh attention after domestic worker Zeeshan Arshad’s father claimed his son acted under pressure. Muhammad Arshad said his son was innocent and accused investigators of unfairly presenting him as a key suspect. He also alleged police tortured Zeeshan during remand and pressured him to confess.
Hina, 45, died at her home in Rawalpindi’s Lal Kurti area on August 21. Her brother filed a murder complaint at the Civil Lines police station, alleging she suffered violence before her death. The post-mortem report recorded a fractured neck bone, rib and hip injuries, and bleeding around the heart.

Police arrested Zeeshan and Hina’s husband, Faisal Asghar, in connection with the case. Investigators previously alleged that Faisal offered Zeeshan money to help carry out the murder. Hina’s father-in-law also became part of the investigation.
However, Muhammad Arshad gave a different account of the incident. He said Zeeshan had worked at Hina’s home for seven months and woke up after hearing an argument on August 20. According to his father, Faisal chased Hina and ordered Zeeshan to catch her.

Arshad claimed his son refused to intervene but Faisal beat him, threatened him with a gun and forced him to comply. He also accused Faisal of killing Hina and hanging her body in the bathroom, although investigators have not independently established these claims. Arshad said Zeeshan was around 18 or 19 years old and had no previous criminal cases.
