Edmonton Oilers defenceman Jake Walman is trading his hockey gear for a shot at some television game-show glory, with the veteran blueliner set to appear on The Price Is Right Tonight on Monday.
Walman will be among several NHL stars appearing on the Canadian version of the popular game show, which sees contestants compete in a series of pricing games for the chance to win prizes.
The 30-year-old will be joined by a star-studded hockey cast that includes New York Islanders defenceman Matthew Schaefer, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson, and Seattle Kraken blueliner Brandon Montour.
Fans hoping to catch Walman in a different setting can tune in through Citytv on cable or stream the episode on Citytv+ beginning at 6 p.m. MT (8 p.m. ET).

The episode also features Toronto Maple Leafs legend Wendel Clark, giving hockey fans plenty of familiar faces to look forward to.
The episode was filmed back in June, giving Walman and the rest of the players an opportunity to work out some of their competitive edge in the offseason.
The Price Is Right Tonight is the Canadian primetime spin-off of the long-running The Price Is Right franchise. Hosted by Howie Mandel, the series premiered in March and featured 12 episodes during its first season.
Monday’s episode also isn’t the first time NHL stars have appeared on the franchise. Back in 2010, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin, and former NHL forward Jeremy Roenick appeared on the American version of the show, hosted by Drew Carey.
The timing of Walman’s television appearance should also work nicely for Oilers fans, with Edmonton off on Monday before returning to action Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild.
While fans will get to see Walman in an entirely different environment on television, his status on the ice remains in question.
The defenceman is set to miss his third consecutive game Thursday against the Utah Mammoth as he continues to deal with an upper-body injury. He remains listed as day-to-day.
For now, Oilers fans will have to settle for seeing the defenceman on their television screens in a different capacity, though you can bet plenty of them will be cheering just the same.
