Minister Lamsal said plans to expand the four-lane road in two sections were moving forward this fiscal year. The detailed project report (DPR) for the first five-kilometer section has already been completed, and the bidding process will begin soon.
He added that preparations were underway to begin construction after the DPR for another 15 kilometers of the road section was finalized.
Despite delays in the second phase, Lamsal said the government aimed to invite bids by the end of the current fiscal year.
The road expansion is expected to improve local mobility, facilitate the marketing of agricultural products, boost commercial activities and contribute to overall economic growth in the region.
