Chic Diwali gifts that are more than just the usual box of sweets

২৪/১০/২০২৬

Festive season calls for more than last-minute hampers. Here’s what to give when you want to stand out.

Festive season gifting is a sport of its own. Between Diwali parties, wedding invitations, and the annual family reunion disguised as poker night, there’s a certain pressure to arrive with something that says more than “I remembered on my way here”. Another box of kaju katli? Entirely respectable, but hardly the stuff of legend. This is the season to think beyond the mithai counter and find something that feels a little more personal, a little more unexpected, and infinitely more covetable.

Of course, there are always the usual suspects: the friend who has a signature scent for every occasion, the cousin who treats getting dressed as a competitive sport, and the host whose home looks like it belongs in a design magazine. Then there’s the person who already owns everything, making them the most dangerous name on your gifting list. For these people, the answer lies somewhere between a beautifully crafted object, a cult beauty find and a fashion piece they wouldn’t necessarily buy themselves. Think a backgammon set that deserves a permanent place on the coffee table, a statement scarf that will outlive several trend cycles, or a coffee maker that makes the morning ritual feel decidedly more glamorous.

Consider this your edit of Diwali gifts that go beyond the predictable–things worth wrapping up, showing off, and, if we’re being entirely honest, quietly adding to your own wish list.
