Love Island’s Samie Elishi has hit back at the ‘millions of opinions’ that were hurled in her and Tyrique Hyde’s direction, after they revealed they are expecting a baby.
The Love Island alums first started dating eight months ago, after Elishi, 26, won the legends’ run of the ITV dating show in Cape Town with Ciaran Davies.
The couple shared their happy news in a video to Instagram, which shows them attending an ultrasound appointment. The clip has been viewed over 18million times on the social media platform.
Elishi has now addressed fan comments on the news, after some were surprised at the speed of her pregnancy after she started dating the Aftersun panellist in March – just weeks after she split from All Stars winner Davies.
Sharing a black and white shot of Hyde touching her bump, the Islander wrote: ‘Thank you for all the love we’ve received in the past 24 hours, we appreciate you all.

‘However, the good always outweighs the bad; we’re so blessed and happy right now. All our lovely comments and messages haven’t gone unnoticed.’
Writing on his Instagram story, Hyde said: ‘Don’t make a scene. Can’t wait for this next chapter. Love you,’ tagging Elishi’s account.
The duo were flooded with well wishes from fellow TV stars after sharing their initial announcement post, with Olivia Attwood, Rochelle Humes, Maya Jama and Georgia Harrison among those penning comments congratulating the couple.
Shortly after posting their big news, the couple hit the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards together, with Elishi showing the beginnings of her baby bump.
Elishi and Hyde appeared in different iterations of the villa, with the former first appearing on Love Island in 2023, when she finished in third place with Tom Clare. She then won All Stars earlier this year.
Hyde appeared on the show in 2024 and was coupled up with Ella Thomas, who he also finished in third place alongside. The 27-year-old returned to the fold for the spin-off show Love Island Games last year, where he finished as a runner-up with Justine Ndiba.
