PETALING JAYA: PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has denied that his party will unveil its candidates for the Melaka state election on the same stage as Barisan Nasional (BN).
BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said that his coalition and PAS would jointly announce their candidates on Saturday.
"So far, no. We will announce it either on the 28th or 29th (of October)," Utusan Malaysia quoted Tuan Ibrahim as telling reporters in Kota Bharu.
PAS also denied finalising seat negotiations with BN for the Nov 14 polls after Zahid said BN would contest 21 of the 28 seats, with PAS and its allies contesting the remaining seven.
Tuan Ibrahim, who is also Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman, said the coalition was seeking one or two additional seats and that negotiations could continue.
"In Melaka, we are still at the main committee stage, and the matter will be finalised within a day or two, although Zahid has already mentioned seven seats," he said.
