Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy is leveraging the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026 to help domestic entrepreneurs secure cross-border business partnerships and direct investments with delegates from 65 countries.
Mohammed Ali Berawi, the ministry’s deputy for strategic development, emphasized that the conference was designed not merely for high-level policy dialogue, but as a collaboration hub directly linking local creators with global investors and international financial institutions.
"We will facilitate business matching sessions attended by creative sector investors and international financial institutions. This serves as a vital platform to unlock new export markets for Indonesian businesses," Ali told reporters here on Wednesday.
He explained that these business sessions aim to lay the groundwork for local creative industry players to expand collaboration networks, gain access to international markets, hold international co-productions, and receive direct capital injections.
As part of the event, the ministry hosted the "Creative Village" in Jakarta’s Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) to showcase domestic creative products to potential international partners, including Netflix, Tencent, and various international venture capital firms.
Ali noted that some of them had held bilateral meetings and explored potential collaborations. He has expected these discussions to yield concrete deals.
He emphasized that the benefits of international market integration must extend beyond Jakarta, giving local creative entrepreneurs across the Indonesian archipelago the chance to scale their businesses through cross-border collaboration.
The WCCE 2026 – held on October 21-23 in Jakarta – gathered government delegates, industry leaders, academics, and stakeholders from 65 countries and seven international organizations, featuring 133 domestic and international speakers.
The forum seeks to adopt the "Jakarta Vision on Creative Economy," a declaration expected to serve as a baseline reference for future United Nations resolutions guiding the post-2030 global creative economy agenda.
Through the summit, Indonesia aims to solidify its thought leadership in the global creative sector while driving tangible commercial gains for its domestic industries.
