Notre Dame remained within the top-10 of the US LBM Coaches Poll following its loss to BYU over the weekend.
The same could be said for the top 10-given by Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt on Monday, which had the Fighting Irish at No. 5. Klatt said on “The Joel Klatt Show” that despite Notre Dame’s first loss of the season, the team is still in the College Football Playoff conversation.
“I still think people are going to have to deal with Notre Dame,” Klatt added. “Mainly Miami will have to deal with Notre Dame when the time comes. They were close to beating BYU on the road in that raucous environment. They should’ve had another play with a second left because it should have gone to replay. I don’t know how the officials missed that one.”
The rest of Klatt’s top 10 was BYU, Ohio State, Miami, Indiana, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UCLA and Texas Tech – in that order.
