It was quite unexpected, but Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is enjoying an impressive campaign, showing that he has vastly improved in his fifth year in the NFL.
Watson is an early feel-good story for the Packers, who are sitting on a 3-2 record after crushing the Chicago Bears in Week 5. Watson had six receptions for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
The 27-year-old pass-catcher is making everything easier for Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love, who is slowly but surely building a rhythm. In a video posted by CBS 58 News’ Cameron Ezeir, Love said Watson is “playing at a high level,” touting his speed and playmaking.

Love also stressed the biggest change in Watson’s game.
“He’s making contested catches. That’s an area that everybody’s talking about: Growth. He’s been making huge strides in that area. I think he’s a consistent player for us right now. He’s in the right spots, both in the passing game and running game. He knows what to do. He’s been consistent for a while. He’s a smart guy,” said the veteran signal-caller.

Watson is proving that he is worth every cent of his four-year, $110.5 million contract extension in the offseason. In five games, he has 26 receptions for 474 yards and six touchdowns.
Love is all for Watson’s coming-out party.
“It’s fun to watch. When you got a guy you can get on any route, you know he can take it to the crib any time. For me, it’s just finding ways to get him the ball, put him in great places, and just keep letting him succeed and go do what he does,” added Love.
The Packers will gun for a third straight win on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
