CHEONGJU — North Chungcheong Province and the city of Cheongju said on the 23rd that they had signed an investment agreement with Hansol iOnes to build a 150 billion won ($105 million) plant for semiconductor parts manufacturing, cleaning and coating.
Hansol iOnes plans to invest a total of 156 billion won by 2029. Construction is set to begin in January next year, with the plant to be completed in December, and equipment will be installed in stages through 2029. The project is expected to create 400 jobs and give a significant boost to the local economy.
"Through this investment in a new plant, we will solidify our competitive edge as a global supplier of comprehensive semiconductor components," said Park In-rae, chief executive of Hansol iOnes.
