If you’ve been keeping up with Gunna, you know he’s been in the gym. Currently headlining a “health is wealth” tour, the rapper is doubling as a runner and was recently named the new Creative Director of Under Armour. Nary a day goes by without him posting a gym mirror selfie or aesthetic proof of clean-eating.
Still, that’s not to say that Gunna has been neglecting his craft. When he’s not wrapped up in Wunna Run Club — which has now hosted group 5K runs across three different continents — the rapper is putting in work in the studio. Following a string of scattered feature appearances, he just dropped “pop it,” his first solo release since August 2025’s The Last Wun. “pop it” marks the first drop under Gunna’s brand-new record label, SB THE LABEL, launched in October in partnership with Atlantic Music Group.

Directed by Spike Jonze, the music video for “pop it” expands on the rapper’s wellness era, as he continues to sharpen his upper-body routine in tandem with his wardrobe. In it, Gunna appears on a tennis court with none other than Coco Gauff. He puts his own spin on traditional prep styling, facing off in singles against Gauff in a half-Miu Miu, half-Under Armour look. Styled by Bobby Wesley, Gunna mixes high-fashion apparel with sportswear accessories, quite possibly the only person to look this cool in a beige argyle vest and athletic sweatband. (The rose gold Patek Philippe Nautilus helps.) Gauff, styled by Jenna Tyson, got the memo as well, serving in a full Miu Miu tennis set.
This adventure in prep-wear is a natural progression for Gunna. He started running back in 2022 after being released from prison. (He pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge but maintains his innocence.) But it was on the heels of The Last Wun, his final record under the Young Stoner Life label, that he made fitness part of his public persona. The “him all along” music video put us onto the rapper’s wellness game. A good portion of the video features Gunna on the golf course in a beige Gucci Polo, cardigan knotted around his neck, and striped socks paired with thick Prada glasses and thicker diamond earrings.
Its successor, “won’t stop,” was the formal introduction of Gunna The Runner (Runna?), opening with a monochromatic thirty-second running montage. Bose headphones and, of course, blinding diamonds hang from his ears. Oversized Oakley frames and an Under Armour sweatband complement the all-black workout set, while later on, he opts for a vintage striped tracksuit.
Gunna’s more intentional way of dressing is easier on the eyes than, say, 2016-era Gunna, when the rapper relied on bright colors and loud prints. It also places him at the forefront of a rising tide of rappers who are putting their health front and center: Wiz Khalifa has taken up Muay Thai, and Ferg is hyper-focused on making cycling classes more engaging. Not all of them are always dressing the part, but in this case, paying attention to what Gunna is wearing also tells us something about where the culture is going.
If the “Pop It” video makes one thing clear, it’s that this sporty rebrand is more than a phase. @sportscenter even collaborated on the Instagram post of the teaser video. And that has to be worth something.
