Accused killer mom Metallica Rose Harrison posed for a tearful mugshot as she was charged with murdering her husband and young son at a Poconos resort — as investigators searched their Pennsylvania home looking for clues to a possible motive to the shocking crime.
The 27-year-old mom was booked on two counts of criminal homicide Tuesday, a day after she allegedly stabbed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son, Tristan, in the chest at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, PA, cops said in a statement.
She had allegedly called 911 to confess to killing the pair before asking for help in killing herself.
Authorities on Wednesday searched the family’s home in Towanda, roughly two hours north of the resort, looking for a motive.
Cops said they hope their investigation at the house “may reveal valuable evidence relating to the motive for this incident as well as recover evidence connecting the knife used at the crime scene to other items,” according to the search warrant application, seen by ABC News.
“It is common for individuals in these scenarios to document their homicidal and suicidal ideation’s via hand writings or electronics prior to, during and after the act has taken place,” the application states.
Cops seized nearly a dozen knives from the home as well as a safe, a journal, a financial notebook, a laptop and other items, according to a court filing.
Metallica Rose reportedly called 911 after killing her family to ask where she could find the right vein in her neck to end her own life shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
She allegedly told the 911 operator she was “too weak to stab my neck,” adding that she had knives but they were “not working,” and she needed “help dying,” according to a criminal complaint.
When asked if she was alone, she responded that “my husband and son are already gone in the bed… They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” according to the complaint.
Cops arrived to find the mom of one with cuts to her wrists and neck and took her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Her husband was found with multiple stab wounds to his chest while her son, Tristan, had a single stab wound to the chest, according to the complaint.
A large butcher knife and a smaller knife were found in the bathroom, along with suspected containers of blood and various medications, the complaint states.
The family had booked into the Great Wolf Lodge on Sept. 21 and extended their stay on Oct. 5, after Metallica Rose allegedly drained her husband’s 401(k) to pay for the trip.
