Pacific Meta, a Tokyo-based blockchain and AI consulting firm, has signed a strategic partnership with Chainlink Labs. The firm is adopting Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, better known as CCIP, as its preferred interoperability solution for Japan’s financial sector.
The deal was announced on October 16, 2026. It targets three areas: institutional tokenized finance, onchain identity and compliance infrastructure.
The two companies are not strangers. They first teamed up in 2023, when the focus was Web3 services and gaming. Three years later, the conversation has moved from game items to financial infrastructure.
What the deal actually includes
The centerpiece is CCIP. Different networks don’t natively talk to each other. Moving tokens or data between them requires some kind of connective layer, and CCIP is Chainlink’s protocol for that cross-chain messaging.
By naming CCIP its preferred option, Pacific Meta is effectively telling clients which connective layer it will steer them toward.
The second piece is compliance. Chainlink’s Automated Compliance Engine, or ACE, is being listed on Pacific Meta’s Partner Solutions marketplace.
The partnership also covers market and business development. That work spans asset tokenization, digital ID and compliance infrastructure, with an emphasis on fitting inside Japan’s local regulatory frameworks.
Pacific Meta’s role is part consultant, part matchmaker. The firm has established relationships with major Japanese companies in telecommunications, consumer electronics and digital advertising.
Who is Pacific Meta
Pacific Meta was founded on August 10, 2022, and is headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Shota Iwasaki serves as CEO.
Since launching, the firm has supported over 300 projects across more than 41 countries.
The upgraded partnership marks a change in emphasis. The two firms have moved from consumer-facing Web3 experiments toward the infrastructure that institutions actually require.
What this means for tokenization in Japan
Institutions need tokenized assets to move across networks reliably. They also need every transfer to satisfy local rules, and they need some way to verify who is on the other side of a trade. This deal touches all three problems: interoperability through CCIP, compliance through ACE and identity through the digital ID work.
For Chainlink, the partnership offers a local distribution channel in Japan. A consultancy with ties to large domestic firms can introduce its tools to clients that might never have encountered them otherwise.
For Pacific Meta, it means a recognizable infrastructure brand to anchor its institutional pitch.
Still, some caution is warranted. What has been announced is a preferred-solution designation, a marketplace listing and a business development agreement, not a slate of live deployments with named Japanese institutions.
Pacific Meta has highlighted its relationships with major companies in telecommunications, consumer electronics and digital advertising, so the next signal will be whether any of those firms announce tokenization or digital ID projects built on CCIP or ACE.
