Agents of the National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, arrested a woman and are actively searching for a man identified as allegedly responsible for breaking into the residence of a German citizen, whom they tied up, robbed of money and other belongings, and attempted to move against his will to another place.
The detainee was identified as Alejandra Rojas Saldaña, alias “Yolaska” , while the fugitive is Yeifri Riquerbin Batista Martínez, alias “Jefri,” who is wanted by the authorities to answer for the investigated events.
According to preliminary investigations, the woman had been in a romantic relationship with the foreigner for approximately six months, a circumstance that, according to what she told investigators, made it easier for her alleged accomplice to accompany her and enter the victim’s residence.
Once inside, they allegedly tied up the German man and stole cash, bank cards, and a cell phone. They then tried to access his accounts to obtain a sum that, according to the detainee’s preliminary statements, was around €40,000, but they were unsuccessful.
Faced with this situation, they decided to move him to another location. However, when they stopped at a gas station in Montellano, on the Puerto Plata-Sosúa highway, the foreigner took advantage of a moment of inattention from his captor to jump out of the vehicle and escape. The fugitive was traveling in another vehicle belonging to the victim, in which they fled the scene.
