Despite the huge success of Star Wars: Galactic Racer and its original character, the iconic Biddy Blas, reaching meme status (AKA royalty), attention over another Star Wars title has grown.
Rumours that work on Star Wars Battlefront 3 have been circulating, with multiple studios in the running to take on the project.
A third instalment is certainly long overdue, since the last game was released almost a decade ago in 2017, with a final update in 2020.
And despite fans having fond memories of Star Wars Battlefront 2, the game on launch was met with mass criticism due to its intense microtransactions.
But now, rumour has it that both DICE and Bungie are interested in creating another instalment in the series.
The source comes from the rumours column in the rebooted final issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, which claimed that these two studios are in the running to green light Star Wars Battlefront 3.
The column was written a while ago and has only just resurfaced, but despite this its other speculations have come to fruition, such as the star of Hideo Kojima’s Physint being part of the John Wick cast (now confirmed to be Bill Skarsgård).
Another rumour was that Diablo 4 would be arriving on the Switch 2, which was confirmed last month.
It is expected that DICE is a contender to take on the project, considering that the studio developed the previous game which was published by EA.
But for Bungie, the legacy studio that worked on the infamous Halo series, this is a surprising frontrunner.

"And you’d be wrong. According to what your intrepid rumormonger has dug up, the suits at Lucasfilm have been aggressively deploying probe droids for a development partner to take on the task of creating a follow-up.
"So far no one has stepped up, but yours truly is hearing two major game studios are circling the project like a couple of snow speeders, led by the completely unsurprising EA DICE who, we can hope, learned their loot box lesson.
"But there is another. The Q-Mann hears that if the Force is not entrusted to DICE it could land at none other than Halo, Destiny, and Marathon developer Bungie."
We’ll have to wait and see whether this rumour proves fruitful, but considering EGM’s track record of success, there’s a strong likelihood Star Wars Battlefront 3 could be on the horizon.
