The Working Committee of the Joint Tribes Council (JTC-Manipur) has suspended the post-mortem examinations of Dibambou Ringkangmai and Ajinbou Ringkangmai, demanding the recovery of Ajinbou’s missing head and its return to the family for a dignified burial.

In a statement issued on Monday, the committee gave the Government of India and the Manipur government a 48-hour ultimatum to recover the missing head and arrest those it accused of involvement in the killings at Makui and Tapon Naga villages.
The committee alleged that the perpetrators were operating with impunity under the protection of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement and held both governments responsible for failing to act against those involved. These allegations could not be independently verified.
The JTC-Manipur also demanded the arrest of Thangboi Kipgen, David Hangsing and Dr. Sailen Haokip, calling for legal action against them.
The committee warned that it would be compelled to take stringent measures if the governments failed to meet its demands within 48 hours. It said the recovery of the missing head was essential for the family to perform the final rites with dignity.
