Caitlin Clark has earned her place on the All-WNBA First Team for the second time in her career, prompting a proud reaction from Patrick McCaffery, the younger brother of her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery.
Patrick celebrated the Indiana Fever star’s achievement on social media while also sending a message to those who have criticised her.
Clark first earned First Team honours during her rookie season in 2024, but injuries restricted her to just 13 appearances the following year. She returned to full strength this season and quickly reminded the league of her influence.
Patrick McCaffery sends message to Caitlin Clark’s critics after All-WNBA selection
Patrick took to Instagram to celebrate Clark’s latest recognition, writing: “yeahhhh did it again yall stay mad”.
His reaction came after the WNBA announced its five All-WNBA First Team selections: Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart and Olivia Miles.
Nike also joined the celebrations, commenting on a post shared by the Fever: “This vote wasn’t complicated”. The Indiana Pacers echoed that sentiment with a simple message: “Never a doubt”.
Clark’s numbers help explain the excitement surrounding her selection. She averaged 22.3 points and 8.3 assists per game during the regular season, ranking third in scoring and second in assists.
She also recorded more 25-point, 10-assist games this season than any other player has managed across their career.
The recognition was particularly significant for Indiana, with Mitchell joining Clark on the First Team after a record-breaking campaign of her own.
Mitchell scored 1,086 points during the regular season, setting a new WNBA single-season record, while her average of 24.7 points per game established a new Fever franchise record.
However, the individual honours come after Indiana’s playoff campaign ended in the first round against Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces.
The Fever now face important decisions ahead of next season, with Mitchell entering free agency and the franchise needing to strengthen its roster around Clark and Aliyah Boston.
Keeping that core together will be a major priority as Indiana looks to turn its star power into a championship challenge.
