Arda Guler has reportedly agreed to extend his contract with Real Madrid until 2031, ending speculation over a possible move to the Premier League amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.
According to TEAMtalk, the 21-year-old Turkish playmaker has decided to commit his long-term future to the Spanish club despite earlier uncertainty about his role in the squad.
The agreement represents a boost for Real Madrid as they seek to retain one of their promising young players, with Guler expected to remain part of the club’s long-term plans.
Interest from Arsenal and Manchester City had emerged ahead of the summer transfer window, amid speculation about how Guler would fit into the team following Jose Mourinho’s arrival as manager.
Questions had been raised about whether the midfielder’s technical style would suit Mourinho’s demands, prompting speculation that he could consider leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the reported agreement is expected to end the transfer uncertainty and strengthen Madrid’s position in keeping the Turkish international.
