World, the identity network co-founded by Sam Altman, said Sunday it is packaging three of its existing verification products into one offering for banks and other financial firms, pitching it as a guard against deepfakes and AI-driven impersonation.
The bundle, which World calls World ID for banking and finance, has three parts. The World ID app is an identity wallet where people store and present credentials World calls Proofs. World ID for Zoom checks that the person on a video call is a real human. World ID for Agents is the tool World launched as AgentKit with Coinbase in March and widened in June, letting a verified person hand those credentials to an AI agent.
World said co-founder Alex Blania unveiled the offering at Money20/20, the fintech conference running Oct. 18 to 21 in Las Vegas. The company described it as the first time it has pointed World ID at a single industry.
The piece that changes status is the Zoom check. World ID for Zoom is now generally available, World said, after a limited beta the company announced in April. The check compares the image taken when a user first verified at World’s Orb device with a live selfie and the meeting video, and any participant can ask for one mid-call, according to World.

Four Design Partners
World named four design partners, OpenExchange, Bain Capital, VanEck Funds and Outtake, which it said will explore how the technology could serve banking and financial services. The announcement did not name a bank as a customer and gave no pricing or rollout timeline.
VanEck tested the Zoom check during the beta, per World’s April post. Bain Capital Crypto, the firm’s digital-asset arm, joined World’s initial $52.5 million token sale close in July; the announcement did not say which Bain Capital entity is the partner.
“As AI becomes increasingly prevalent in all aspects of our lives, enterprises are requesting individuals provide ‘Proofs’ about themselves to help mitigate fraud and increase trust,” Sandro Herbig of Tools for Humanity, the company that builds technology for World, said in the announcement.
A Fraud Forecast
World tied the launch to Deloitte research. In May 2024, the Deloitte Center for Financial Services projected that generative AI could enable fraud losses to reach $40 billion in the US by 2027, up from $12.3 billion in 2023.
World says more than 18 million people hold its Proof of Human credential, in line with the count it gave in July. In September, World said ProveKit, its toolkit for proving facts about a person from a phone without sharing the underlying document, was open to outside developers.
World said it will continue introducing the technology to enterprise audiences, including at Zoomtopia, Zoom’s virtual conference that opens Oct. 20.
