Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, and former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Bayo Ojo, SAN, are among six eminent Nigerians to receive Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 2026 Gavel International Annual Lecture and Awards.
The ceremony, organised by Gavel International in partnership with the Ernest Sesei Ikoli Foundation, is scheduled for November 17, 2026, to recognise contributions to the legal profession, civil society and national development.
Other awardees are constitutional lawyer Tayo Oyetibo, SAN; former pioneer Chairman of the NBA Section on Business Law, George Etomi; property and housing expert Kayode Filani; and environmental rights lawyer Inuro Wills.
The organisers said the awards would celebrate distinguished Nigerians whose professional accomplishments and commitment to public service had made lasting contributions to society.
Gavel International, an online platform covering law, justice administration and the rule of law, is authored by Mustapha Adekunle Ogunsakin.
