A young divorced woman tragically lost her life in an alleged honor killing incident in Vehari district. The twenty-one-year-old victim, identified as Saba Bibi, was living with her parents following her divorce. However, her family members falsely suspected that she maintained an unauthorized relationship with a man. Consequently, several relatives allegedly planned a violent assault against her inside their own home.
During the late hours, Saba was completing her regular household chores around the house. Suddenly, her father led her toward the remote cattle pen behind their family residence. Multiple armed relatives were already hiding inside the dark enclosure waiting to launch an attack. The group immediately set upon her using sharp knives and inflicted severe physical injuries.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene after receiving urgent reports about the attack. Medical teams rushed Saba toward a regional hospital in Sahiwal for emergency medical treatment. Tragically, she succumbed to her extensive knife wounds during the transport to the hospital. Thereafter, police officials moved her body to a local facility for official post-mortem examination.
Police officers subsequently registered a formal murder case following a complaint filed by her maternal uncle. The police stepped in because her immediate legal heirs refused to press charges against the suspects. The filed case nominates five known relatives, including her father, alongside two unidentified individuals. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are conducting investigations to arrest all individuals involved in this crime.
In a separate tragic incident, a fatal road accident claimed two lives near Mian Channu Road. Two young motorcyclists collided at high speeds near Chak 224/EB on Sunday afternoon. One rider died instantly at the scene, while medical staff rushed the second victim to hospital. Sadly, the second rider also passed away while being transferred to another hospital for specialized care.
