Rangers technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has commended his players for their resilience in the draw against Barau FC.
The Flying Antelope held Barau FC to a 2-2 draw at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano on Sunday.
Ifeanyi Okechukwu gave Rangers the lead in the 38th minute before Joseph Atule equalised for Barau from the penalty spot in the 56th minute.
Aliyu Sugau converted another penalty in the 68th minute to put the hosts ahead, but Chidiebere Nwobodo struck in the 90th minute to earn Rangers a valuable point.
Ilechukwu expressed satisfaction with the point garnered in the game.
“It was a great game against Barau FC, as the game thought us that you don’t have to give up not until the final whistle in football,” Ilechukwu stated in a post-match interview.
“When we are behind I keep on encouraging the boys that it’s very possible eventually we got the goal and pick a point, getting a point here in Kano is not an easy task.”
