From November 27 to 29, contemporary galleries, artist studios and alternative exhibition spaces at around 40 locations will welcome visitors to the fourth edition of Art Weekend Budapest (AWB), a free contemporary art program.
The organizers said Art Weekend Budapest is one of the final art festivals of the year, offering art enthusiasts, families, groups of friends and workplace communities inspiring shared experiences during the first weekend of Advent. Participating venues include the Ludwig Museum, Hegyvidék Gallery, Kiscell Museum, Ladó Gallery and Eötvös10 Basement Gallery.
Over the past three years, several thousand people have joined the free art walks or taken part in accompanying programs and events.
The statement quoted Eszter Őry, professional director of artNESZ Fine Arts Agency, which organizes the event. She noted that while visitors to AWB may be accustomed to exploring galleries and artist studios in an intimate, welcoming atmosphere, the participation of larger museums is also a familiar feature of the European Art Week scene.
“We are particularly pleased that the Hungarian University of Fine Arts is joining our festival not only with an exhibition but also as a cooperating partner,” she added.
The event’s website provides an up-to-date list of participating venues, which continues to expand.
The organizers highlighted that the festival includes a venue outside Budapest every year. Eger joined the program in 2024, followed by Pécs in 2025. This year, the gallery of the University of Szeged will welcome visitors.
Around 70 exhibitors will showcase contemporary art, photography, design, fashion, and jewelry during the three-day fair.Continue reading
