Highlighting the security challenges in the area, particularly the regiment’s proximity to the Old Oyo National Park, the GOC called on the troops to adopt necessary operational measures to safeguard the area and bring glory to the Nigerian Army.

He expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for expanding the Nigerian Army, noting that the development would strengthen the military’s capacity to address contemporary security challenges.

Mahmuda also charged the troops to perform their artillery duties effectively and maintain cordial relations with members of their host community.

The visit, according to the Acting Deputy Director, 2 Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, underscored the GOC’s commitment to ensuring that newly established formations and units under his command settle in properly and discharge their assigned responsibilities effectively.

It also provided an opportunity for the GOC to interact with troops deployed to various locations across the Division’s Area of Responsibility.
